Seeded turf is slow growing and requires mowing once a week, rather than the 3 times a week that meadow turf does.

Seeded turf is also a lot harder wearing as we have developed a very hard wearing thick dense turf suitable for family's/ dogs etc. Our seeded turf is also weed treated twice a year where as meadow turf will have alot of weed seeds in its soil that you will be bringing into your garden!

we grow turf on 170 acres in Beaford, North Devon. Our turf is grown on some of the best and driest land in Devon which allows us to produce top quality turf 12 months of the year. we cut our turf daily to order to ensure its fresh as it can be when delivered to the customer.

When your new turf is laid it is important to water it for the first 7 to 10 days if it's dry. If it's the middle of summer and very hot it may need watering for up to 14 days. And you can never over water a lawn! Pre-laying fertilizer is not necessary as we run a fertiliser program that ensures all turf is fertilized no longer than two weeks before its cut and delivered to keep it in its best condition.

It's good practice to feed your lawn monthly from February until October with a good nitrogen/phosphate/potash fertilizer. In October it's good practice to put a slow release fertilizer on that will last until February. Once a year spraying for weeds is also a good idea, in-between the months of April and September. Now with the banned use of insecticide's to treat the pests such as leather jackets we recommend a yearly treatment on nematodes that can be purchased from any garden centre.
